The 7th Annual Firetag Invitational Golf Tournament was at the Scottsdale Silverado Golf Club on Friday, November 16, 2012. Festivities included a scramble format tournament, complimentary lunch, raffle, silent auction, and evening appetizers. We'd like to give a big thank you to our supporters who participated in the tournament. At the event we successfully raised nearly $35,000 and hosted 64 golfers.  Your support of this event was very meaningful as it not only allowed us to raise money for the important work we do at Teen Lifeline, but it also gave us the opportunity to honor one of our most cherished supporters, Jules Firetag.

Teen Lifeline is here to listen and to help.  Our vision to impact the devastating problem of teen suicide in Arizona has helped us reach nearly 36,000 people in the community and nearly 10,000 youth in Arizona have in turn reached out to us for help in the past year.  We have developed a strong Life Skills Development training for our teen volunteer peer counselors.  Not only do they learn how to help their peers but they are afforded with real world problem solving skills in addition to having a place to go for support from their fellow peers.

Over the past 26 years we have dispatched life-saving services, we have connected teens to critical care and we have offered life changing supportive services. For many teens, the Crisis Hotline is not just a call for help it is their last call for hope. Your support enables us to continue to provide this critical service to teens throughout the state.  On behalf of the children, teens, and families we serve, thank you again for your generosity.  You have helped support and protect the youth of Arizona.


Jules Firetag
Jules was many things to many people. He was a respected attorney, a giving volunteer having served as a past president for the Jewish Community Center JCC and Teen Lifeline, a good friend and an avid sports fan. For Teen Lifeline, he will be remembered as the first president of our board, the presenter at our events, the comedian at our meetings and a friend to us all. Jules Firetag was an all around champion for Teen Lifeline. He was a leader who led with actions. He was always the first to volunteer his time, the first to challenge the “easy way out” and consistently led with integrity, honor and grace. The organization would truly not be what it is today were it not for the help and guidance from Jules Firetag.

In memory of Jules, the Firetag Invitational was created. Remembering he also enjoyed a round or two of golf, this round will be in celebration of his dedication and hard work on behalf of Teen Lifeline.
