Event:
The Alfredo J. Molina Community Lifeline Award is presented to
individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the service of
others in their lifetime, particularly to youth. The recipient serves
as a community role model; provide inspiration to others with their
personal and professional integrity, leading through creativity,
initiative and excellence. In 2005, the award was named in honor of the
inaugural recipient, Alfredo J. Molina, for his service to Arizona
youth and our community. Presented each year at Teen Lifeline's annual
Crystal Ball, the Alfredo J. Molina Community Lifeline honors an
individual whose compassion, contributions and overall community
goodwill have benefited the youth of Arizona.
Teen Lifeline is proud to announce that Bridget Pettis, retired WNBA
Phoenix Mercury player and Assistant Coach, has been nominated as the
2011 recipient of the Alfredo J. Molina Community Lifeline Award.
Bridget’s passion for helping children and her support of the community
is evident in the work she does every day. Her inspirational message of
helping people remember how precious life is, can be the spark that
helps save a life. Her profound pleas for tolerance, acceptance and
support of adolescent suicide prevention efforts will continue to
significantly increase the public awareness of this devastating problem.
Bridget was selected to receive the 2011 Alfredo J. Molina Community
Lifeline Award because she exemplifies these things, and seeks to
inspire our youth to not give up but to create and follow their dreams!
