On Friday, November 11th, 2016, Teen Lifeline held the 11th Annual Firetag Invitational Golf Tournament at the Scottsdale Silverado Golf Club.

It was a bright, beautiful, and breezy day out on the green where nearly 100 golfers came out to support our youth! Together, they raised over $75,000 which will go directly back to Teen Lifeline, our programming, and those we serve.

Golfers enjoyed breakfast before hitting the green for our scramble format tournament. Fun activities included a golf ball launcher, skirt hole, and opportunities to win some fabulous hole-in-one prizes.

Nearly 100 golfers formed teams of 4 to compete for charity.

Golfing to let every teen know #YoureNotAlone.

We actually had a golfer snag a hole-in-one on the 18th hole. Congratulations to Molly Denton for an amazing shot!

Throughout the day, golfers were able to bid on items in our silent auction using mobile bidding. Items at this year's auction included a signed Larry Fitzgerald football, mattresses from Tuft & Needle, and new golf clubs. At the end of the tournament, everyone enjoyed lunch as we handed out prizes for such categories as top 3 teams, longest putt, longest drive, and more.

Teams posed for pictures to commemorate the day!

We thank our golf committee: Mike Gray, Julie Krause, Kyle McMillian, and Debbie Smith for all their hard work! And thank you to our major sponsors: Tridave Consulting, Soljet, Quikjet, Western Refining, and Arizona Coating Applicators!

Jules Firetag

Jules was many things to many people. He was a respected attorney, a giving volunteer having served as a past president for the Jewish Community Center JCC and Teen Lifeline, a good friend and an avid sports fan. For Teen Lifeline, he will be remembered as the first president of our board, the presenter at our events, the comedian at our meetings and a friend to us all. Jules Firetag was an all around champion for Teen Lifeline. He was a leader who led with actions. He was always the first to volunteer his time, the first to challenge the “easy way out” and consistently led with integrity, honor and grace. The organization would truly not be what it is today were it not for the help and guidance from Jules Firetag.

In memory of Jules, the Firetag Invitational was created. Remembering he also enjoyed a round or two of golf, this round will be in celebration of his dedication and hard work on behalf of Teen Lifeline.
